Freeheld stars Ellen Page and Julianne Moore had a busy weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival. Not only did they attend the premiere for Freeheld, the film based on the true story of Laurel Hester and Stacie Andree about partner benefits helped move marriage equality forward in New Jersey, but they each attended other premieres for films they're in as well. While Julianne attened the premiere for Maggie's Plan on Saturday, Ellen was busy walking the red carpet Evan Rachel Wood, who plays her sister in the dystopian flick Into the Forest, which also premiered this weekend. The Hollywood Reporter sat down with Ellen and her colleagues for both films, and everyone said incredibly intelligent, thoughtful things that makes us just want more from all of them.
Ellen, Julianne and costar Michael Shannon (who plays Laurel's partner on the police force) discuss Freeheld. It's especially poignant when Ellen talks about how the film becomes personal.
Here's Ellen with Evan and director Patricia Rozema. We love the part where Ellen discusses how she and Evan became fast friends once they started working together.
