'Pariah's' Dee Rees and Kim Wayans Support Marriage Equality: Video

Pariah’s director Dee Rees and actress Kim Wayans have joined the Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC) Americans for Marriage Equality Campaign.

Rees, who is gay, is the celebrated director of Pariah, the lesbian-themed film that has garnered critical attention and a couple of Independent Spirit Awards nods. Meryl Streep, in her Golden Globes speech Sunday, even gave a shout out to Pariah and its star Oduye Adepero.

In the film Wayans plays the lead character Alike’s homophobic mother but in real life she’s asking people to “Join me and the majority of Americans in supporting marriage equality.
