Out actress Sarah Paulson will reprise her role as Felicity Huffman’s character’s sister, Lydia, in the eighth and final season of the ABC hit series.

ABC confirmed Paulson would return as Lydia, Lynette’s oft-troubled sister, for a one-episode arch.

This time though, the sisters will face a reversal of roles as Lynette is facing divorce and Lydia is newly engaged.

"Lynette always helped put the pieces back in Lydia's disastrous personal life, but she is now engaged and shows up with her new fiancé," executive producer Bob Daily tells TVGuide.com. "We'll hear her say, 'Oh Lynette, I'm so sorry. What can I do to help?' The seeds of sibling rivalry are planted as the roles are reversed.”

Paulson first appeared on Desperate Housewives in the fourth season in 2007, The Hollywood Reporter writes. The talented star of stage and screen famously came out after sharing a celebratory kiss at the Tony’s with her then partner Cherry Jones.

Paulson did an excusive interview for SheWired with her sister, Rachel, in January 2010. (See the video here)
