Pop icon, aerialist, LGBT rights activist, mom and now serious actress, P!nk will make her film debut playing a sex addict the upcoming Thank You for Sharing, costarring Mark Ruffalo and Gwyneth Paltrow, according to Popwatch.
Securing her a spot among modern-day Renaissance women with her foray into acting, P!nk, under her birth name Alecia Moore, will play the “free-spirited” Dede in the dramatic comedy about the tribulations of people coming to terms with sex addiction in a 12-Step program. Stuart Blumberg, who co-wrote The Kids Are All Right, is the film’s writer / director.
"Alecia could not be a more ideal fit for this role. She carries with her just the right combination of heart and edginess for the part of Dede, and we’re incredibly excited to share her acting talent with audiences,” Blumberg says of P!nk.
It was just a matter of time before the uber-talented P!nk really caught the acting bug outright considering her highly theatrical videos for hits “Please Don’t Leave” and more recently “Fucking Perfect.” She's had cameos in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and Get Him to the Greek and she costarred in a gem of a horror flick Catacombs with Shannyn Sossamon but Thank you for Sharing marks P!nk's acting debut in a film with mainstream appeal.
The film also stars Joely Richardson and Tim Robbins. Talk about a must-see. Start popping the corn now!
