With a new show on the Oprah Winfrey Network debuting on Oct. 10, and a hot new girlfriend Rosie O’Donnell is on top of the world, and she’s not holding back on talking about how over-the-top happy she is.
O’Donnell, 49, once the “Queen of Nice,” who later garnered a rep for being a tad angry and explosive around her stint as a co-host on The View in 2006, is gushing about her wonderful new girlfriend, Michelle Rounds, 40, whom O’Donnell met at a Starbucks of all places. The couple made their first public appearance a few weeks ago at O'Donnell's annual charity event Rosie's Theater Kids.
"I did not expect it when I met her at Starbucks," O’Donnell tells People. "She didn't look like any lesbian I'd ever met. But it's fun and very exciting."
O’Donnell credits her new lease on life in part to hormone replacement therapy.
"I'm in menopause, and I've been having really bad hot flashes," she says. "It's like you're a withering rose and the petals are falling off and all of sudden you bloom again. For me, [the hormones] have made a drastic difference,” O’Donnell tells People.
