Equality advocate and recent newlywed Joy Behar has announced plans to end her eponymous nighttime program, which has been one of prime time's most consistently gay-centric talk shows, at the end of this year. “I am very proud of the show that we created at HLN and I owe tremendous thanks to the show team who made it possible,” Behar says in a statement.

Since The Joy Behar Show premiered in 2009, Behar, a longtime advocate for marriage equality, has interviewed numerous LGBT newsmakers, including Meredith Baxter, Dan Savage, Johnny Weir, and Advocate columnist Michelangelo Signorile. Behar will continue as a cohost of ABC's morning program The View.
