Now you can watch Kate Winslet, as Mildred Pierce, choke the hell out of Evan Rachel Wood’s hateful Veda on repeat since HBO’s five-part mini series Mildred Pierce dropped on Jan. 3.

The acclaimed series from director Todd Haynes has earned Winslet and out bisexual costar Wood, recently of True Blood and The Ides of March fame, Golden Globe nominations. Winslet took home the Emmy last September for her role as the titular character based on James M. Cain’s 1941 novel about a depression-era working mother and businesswoman who does continual battle with her ungrateful daughter Veda.

Haynes, who is gay, has wowed critics before with Far From Heaven, his reimagining of the Douglas Sirk classic All that Heaven Allows, and with the avant-garde Bob Dylan biopic I’m Not There.

The mini series also stars Guy Pearce – who picked up an Emmy for his role Mildred’s cad of a lover – and the amazing Melissa Leo and Mare Winningham.

The Mildred Pierce DVD includes Four discs and five episodes running at 344 minutes. DVD extras include director commentary on two episodes. The Collector's Edition DVD and Blu-ray combo version adds a making-of featurette and inside material.
