Facts of Life alumna Geri Jewell, who came out as a lesbian in her memoir last year, has landed a gig in Fox’s new show Alcatraz, according to TV Line.

Jewell, who played Blair Warner’s (Lisa Whelchel) cousin on the 80’s hit sitcom Facts of Life, will play the “eccentric sister of deputy prison warden E.B. Tiller” in 1960’s-era flashbacks on Alcatraz, TV Line reports.

Alcatraz, based on the infamous prison outside of San Francisco, is produced by J.J. Abrams (Lost, Super 8) and Elizabeth Sarnoff (Lost, Deadwood), according to Alcatraz’s website.

After a few decades out of the spotlight Jewell, a stand-up comic and actress who often made her cerebral palsy part of her routine, released her memoir I’m Walking as Straight as I Can, in which she discusses her cerebral palsy, various struggles she’s faced since her Facts of Life days and comes out publicly as a lesbian.

Alcatraz premieres Jan. 16.
