The New Normal a comedy from Glee’s Allison Adler and Ryan Murphy, about a gay couple and a woman who becomes a surrogate to help them have children, has been given a series order by NBC, reports Entertainment Weekly.

Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon andGirls) and Justin Bartha (The Hangover) will play the gay couple while Scottish actress Georgia King will play the surrogate. The always-welcome Ellen Barkin has been tapped to play the surrogate’s glamorous grandmother while Glee’s Nene Leakes is slated for a recurring role.

Adler, who was honored by POWER UP in 2010, served as co-executive producer on Chuck and No Ordinary Family. 

Out writers and producers Adler and Murphy penned the pilot for the series.
