The cast and creators of Glee took Comic-Con by storm this weekend and revealed more spoilers about the show’s upcoming fourth season, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Executive producers Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan and Dante Di Loreto as well as cast members Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Naya Rivera, Darren Criss, Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz signed autographs and later took questions during a Saturday night panel at the San Diego convention.
Glee’s fourth season will pick up at school in September, after a dramatic Season 3 finale leaving Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) expecting a baby, Rachel (Michele) off to New York without Finn (Monteith) by her side, and an uncertain future for Santana (Rivera) and her girlfriend Brittany (Heather Morris), who’s staying at McKinley another year.
Stars revealed that Santana wouldn’t be heading to New York with Rachel, as some speculated. She’ll be cheerleading at the University of Louisville, though no word on her future with Brittany. “They definitely love each other, I hope that they make it,” according to THR.
When the season kicks off, Coach Sue will have had her baby, though we won’t learn the identity of the celebrity father until a bit later in the season. "She's now Sue with a baby and a different set of priorities but still can't help but make fun of everyone as often as possible,” Brennan told the audience.
Rachel will start her Broadway training at NYADA alongside recurring guest star Kate Hudson, who will play one of her teachers, it was revealed . And Rachel will also be included in the show’s second Britney Spears episode (another opportunity to feature Brittany S. Pierce!) and producers say it won’t be too long before Rachel is reunited with gay best friend Kurt (Chris Colfer), who stays in Lima after NYADA rejects him.
Other plot points to look forward to include Kurt and Blaine (Criss) tackling a long-distance relationship and new seniors stepping up to lead New Directions. Producers also confirmed that The Glee Project Season 1 co-winner Damian McGinty wouldn’t be coming back – at least not for the first half of the season.
