Out singer Sopie B. Hawkins, whose “Damn, I wish I was Your Lover” became a siren song for lesbians in the early ‘90s is taking on the role of a lifetime as the titular character in Room 105: The Highs and Lows of Janice Joplin at Macha Theater in West Hollywood.
Hawkins’ partner Gigi Gaston penned the show that runs not until Oct. 28. The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Hawkins who chatted about playing the bisexual blues / rock legend.
