Kacy and Cori Boccumini, the real life couple who wanted nothing more than to start a family during last season’s run of Showtime’s The Real L Word has confirmed that they are expecting a baby on July 1st, according to Afterellen.
Married since 2008, they spent the last two years trying to get pregnant, after they tragically lost their first child, Charlie, who passed away after being born premature. Reports say that Cori found out about a previously undiagnosed cervical condition too late in the process.
"This time around, we are just way more protective and cautious. How could we not be? We didn’t take any chances," Cori told Afterellen. "Our doctor is the number one guy for high risk pregnancies. I have been on bed rest since 10 weeks, which means I cannot leave the house, or lift anything, or do any chores. We are also getting the cerclage — my cervix sewn shut — so that we don’t have the same problem as last time."
The couple used the same sperm donor for this pregnancy as they did with Charlie. They have yet to find out if the newest addition to the family will be a boy or girl, but they plan to.
Since Showtime hasn’t announced whether they will keep the reality show on the schedule for a 4th season, the couple plans to keep all of their fans updated on their journey via their site, accordingtocori.com.
"We will post some video updates and pictures and blogs so you can see our progress," Kacy said . "It would be a shame to not be able to finally tell this happy story, but alas, we will not disappoint all of the awesome people who have rooted for us this whole time."
Congratulations, fantastic news!
