Jennifer Lopez’s ABC Family series The Fosters is set to premire this summer, and the network has released the first promo photos of the cast.

Teri Polo and Sherri Saum star as the lesbian mom couple raising a biological son, several adopted kids and a troubled girl they take in. Australian actress Maia Mitchell plays Callie, the troubled teen who disrupts the Fosters’ way of life, while Louisiana native David Lambert plays the couple's biological son Brandon, reports Deadline.

Polo and Saum  play Stef and Lena respectively, a mixed race couple. Saum’s Lena is a school principal who agrees to take Callie in without consulting with her partner Stef, who’s described as a “tough but kind” police officer who’s not initially looking to add to the family.

Pop diva and actress Lopez will produce the series as well as guest star on it.

Considering ABC Family’s thoughtful representation of characters on the LGBT spectrum on Pretty Little Liars, The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Greek, we’re really excited about The Fosters.
