Jenna Wolfe, a weekend anchor for Today, appeared on this morning's weekday episode of NBC's morning news program, with some big news: She's pregnant, and expecting her first child with partner Stephanie Gosk in August!
The on-air announcement coincides with an article in People magazine, where Wolfe, 39, reiterates her on-air claim that having a baby is the most exciting adventure she's ever been on. "But I don't want to bring my daughter into a world where I'm not comfortable telling everyone who i am and who her mother is," Wolfe told People.
Gosk, 40, is an NBC news correspondent, who covered the capture of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, the Arab Spring in Egypt, and served as an embedded journalist with U.S. troops in Iraq.
For her part, Wolfe will be humorously blogging her pregnancy experience on Today's mommy blog.
"Stephanie's extremely adventurous, she's been all over the world," Wolfe told Today's Matt Lauer. "You know me — there's not a building I haven't jumped off of. So for us, this is nothing like any of that."
People reports that Gost and Wolfe have been together for three years, and plan to marry in their home state of New York, which legalized marriage equality in 2011.
Congratulations to both the newswomen!
