It was just announced today that the sequel to the wildly popular 2003 Pixar film Finding Nemo will be called Finding Dory, based on Ellen DeGeneres’ hilariously forgetful Regal Blue Tang fish, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Finding Nemo starred Albert Brooks as the clown fish Marlin who goes in search of his son Nemo and meets Dory along the way on the adventure. Elizabeth Perkins, Brad Garrett, Willem DaFoe, Allison Janney and Geoffrey Rush also voiced characters in the original film.

The sequel will be helmed by Finding Nemo director Andrew Stanton and will take place off the California Coast about a year after the original story (does that make it a period piece?).

The sequel is set for a 2016 release, so fans of the original will have to wait a few more years to see Dory in action again.

Here’s Ellen discussing just what it took to get a Finding Nemo sequel green lit.
