"I Was A Fool" is one of my favorite tracks off Tegan and Sara's latest album, Heartthrob. The song's tender piano and classic heartbreak-laden, angsty chorus pluck directly at my heartstrings. And then, of course, there's the sweet sounds of the out twin sister's voices, full of gorgeous harmonies and moody runs.
So, naturally, I freaked out a little to see Tegan and Sara had released an official music video for "I Was A Fool." And then I found out the video stars Mae Whitman (of Parenthood and Arrested Development), as the lonely girl pining for a past partner named Sidney. We're going to go ahead and assume Sidney is a woman, making this the second time Whitman has played gay, according to AfterEllen. (Whitman played lesbian Roxie Richter from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World).
