Here TV Brings Lesbian Love Worldwide With Paid YouTube Launch

Here TV Brings Lesbian Love Worldwide With Paid YouTube Launch

A new partnership with YouTube means billions of people will now have access to Here TV's subscription programming.

Quality lesbian programming can be hard to come by.

Luckily, the Here Television network has provided some good ones over its 10 year history, including The Dinah Girls and The Dinah Insider where adult film star Kayden Kross hangs with the partygoers and entertainers at one of the world's largest lesbian gatherings; Hot Gay Comics which delivers awesome stand-up from lesbian comediennes like Leah Dubie, Gloria Bigelow and Poppi Kramer; and Because of an Earlier Incident, a show highlighting talented female artists among others living in working in New York City.

All of these shows and many others are now available to viewers worldwide thanks to Here TV’s newly unveiled YouTube paid channel.

For the first time ever, billions of viewers in 10 countries worldwide will have access to more than 100 original shows, movies and documentaries featuring LGBT people and cultural issues — all on-demand, in high def and available on TVs, computers and mobile devices, anytime, anywhere for a monthly or yearly subscription fee — effectively broadcasting positive images of LGBT people into parts of the world who may have never had them before, including South Korea, Russia, and Brazil.

The new channel contains comedy, horror, pop-culture and politics (something for everyone, really). If you’re unfamiliar with Here TV’s programs, The Advocate has a list of clips and descriptions from some of Here TV’s most popular shows.

But bringing LGBT programming around the globe is only part of what’s exciting about the new channel. The bigger (and arguably more exciting) component is that a worldwide audience will ultimately inspire other LGBT actors, directors and creatives to begin telling their own stories and sharing their work through Here TV and other online outlets, giving a voice to LGBT people internationally in ways that have never been done.

Josh Rosenzweig, senior vice president of Original Programming and Development for Here TV said, "As we continue to create original shows, series, and movies, this new channel will allow us to have a fresh and extensive global perspective in both the development of new content and attracting an entirely new audience."

Here Television, which is SheWired's sister network as both are owned by Here Media, is currently in its tenth year of operation and remains the only TV network in the world focused solely on LGBT programming.
