Kristen Wiig’s highly anticipated return to Saturday Night Live aired this weekend, and while SNL’s writers failed to take full advantage of what could have been the Wiig/Kate McKinnon power hour, there was a gem of an SNL commercial for 1-800-FLOWERS in which McKinnon played Wiig’s pain-in-the-ass but lovable mom.
SNL’s first out lesbian cast member, McKinnon even got in a little tongue in cheek while rifling through the mom’s mega-bag in search of her missing debit card. “God, I wish I was a lesbian so I didn’t have to carry a purse,” McKinnon says.
