As pro-equality hip-hop artist Macklemore took the stage at Sokol Auditorium in Omaha, Neb., last month, to perform his marriage equality anthem "Same Love," the crowd went wild, shrieking their support for the artist's outspoken lyrics like "No freedom 'til we're equal / Damn right I support it."
The Washington-based artist took his allyship a step father at the April show, though, working with Danielle Renae to surprise her girlfriend with a marriage proposal following Macklemore's performance of "Same Love."
In a video posted April 9, Renae notes that the band and its tour manager helped her coordinate the surprise for "the love of my life."
