Rizzoli & Isles’ star Angie Harmon is More’s cover woman for September. While the 41-year-old star of the TNT series that just loves to play with lesbian subtext looks fabulous for her cover shoot, a few of her quotes may devastate those Rizzles shippers who’re still hoping for a little more than best friendship and a killer working relationship between Angie’s Jane Rizzoli and Sasha Alexander’s Maura Isles.
In her interview with More Angie reiterates that she’s surprised when fans urge writers to have the Rizzoli and Isles make out, according to the NY Daily News.
“It was like, ‘We’re not going to watch your show because you won’t write them making out,’ Angie tells More about the demands made of the characters by ardent fans. She goes on to essentially say that whether or not Rizzoli and Isles ever snog is not the point (clearly, she's not on Twitter when R&I airs).
“Whether we’re gay or straight, it doesn’t matter,” Angie says. “We’re all women. We all have the same wonderful situations happen to us, the same horrific situations. We all get our hearts broken.”
While Angie may have a point there, it’s still not going to satisfy those loyal Rizzoli & Isles viewers who’ve felt teased by all the lesbian winks and nudges for four seasons.
