Cathy DeBuono and Jill Bennett: Off the Couch and on the Road with 'We Have to Stop Now'

Actresses, producers and SheWired video bloggers Cathy DeBuono and Jill Bennett are headed across the pond to meet and greet United Kingdom fans of their films and web series.

"Because of the independent feature that Cathy and I did ...And Then Came Lola... the London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival asked us to come out for the premier," explains Bennett.  "We thought this would be a great opportunity, not only to travel but, to get the word out about We Have to Stop Now (WHTSN) to the ladies in the UK and also hopefully in Amsterdam... we're going to make a trip there as well.

Very Funky People Events in Hebden Bridge contacted Bennett and DeBuono  and told them " it was a lesbian stronghold in northern England and we should go there and they would throw an event for us. We are going to screen the first season of We Have to Stop Now and do a little event on Saturday, March 13 and then go to Amsterdam and then be back in London for Saturday the 20^th for the Lola screening.

"The distributor in the UK... told us that the Lola screening sold out before the tickets were even released to the public... they are trying to add a couple of other screenings to accommodate all the ticket requests...."Click here for information about the 24^th BFI London Lesbian & Gay film Festival.

Season 2 of WHTSN wrapped in mid-January and is currently in post production. It will premiere Tuesday April 13 on the WHTSN website. DeBuono, Bennett and writer and actress Ann Noble will go live online that evening to "... do a little hello to the fans," says Bennett.  "There will be a chat room so everyone can see each other and talk to each other and yell back at us... it's going to be a very interactive site."

WHTSN is a online romantic comedy that follows two lesbian therapists as they struggle to keep up the pretense of their own marriage after the success of their book How To Succeed In Marriage Without Even Trying. Dyna (DeBuono) and Kit (Bennett) gain insights into their own relationship in their sessions with their therapist, Susan, played by comedian Suzanne Westenhoefer. Their lives are further complicated when a documentary film crew starts filming every moment of their home life.
