Right about now the cast of the new hit Fox TV show Glee should be really gleeful… Fox has picked up the back nine episodes of the musical comedy so viewers will get to enjoy 22 episodes of the show.

Glee follows teacher, Will Schuester, played by Matthew Morrison, who -- against all odds and malicious cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester played to perfection by out lesbian favorite Jane Lynch -- attempts to save McKinley High's Glee Club from obscurity.

Throw in a bunch of talented kids singing and dancing and Glee provides one of the bright spots in the fall TV schedule.

"The response we've received to Glee has been remarkable," said Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly. "It's already got the makings of a cultural phenomenon. I've seen all 13 episodes, and Ryan Murphy, his team and the talented Glee cast have knocked our socks off with their incredible work. We're happy to pick up this gem of a show, and can't wait to see what they'll do with the rest of the season."

Glee was previewed in May following the American Idol finale but did not debut until September. The official launch made it Fox’s highest rated scripted fall premier in three years.

Glee is produced by Ryan Murphy TV with 20th TV.
