Things just keep getting better and better for actress and out lesbian Jane Lynch and the rest of the world is finally discovering what many of us have known for years ... she is one of the funniest and most talented character actresses around.

2010 is shaping up to be a banner year for the tall, striking blond... she's back at work filming nine more episodes of the Fox hit series Glee where she plays the snarky, tracksuit wearing cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester. Glee won a People's Choice Award and is nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award, where Lynch will be a presenter.  She's nominated for Golden Globe and speculation is she's in line for an Emmy nomination and probably the award.

While she has done some voice work in the past, Lynch will get to exercise those chops during the coming year. January 10 she... or rather her voice ... will debut as Mrs. Eck, Roberta's new teacher on several episodes of Fox TVs animated The Cleveland Show (9:30 PM ET/PT).

"I was thrilled to do it, and then when I read the script I was just blown away.  I love my character, she's very bitter, her glory days are behind her, and she's out to punish Roberta for being so pretty." ... shades of Sue Sylvester.

We'll also get to hear Lynch in the movie Shrek 4. "I'm playing a character called Gretchen and I'm an ogre and there are a lot of ogres in this particular Shrek.  It kind of goes back in the life of time, kind of like It's a Wonderful Life ... it's a lot of fun."

Lynch says she would like to do more voice work. "I did voiceover for several years, radio and television voice over in the mid 90s, and I really enjoy that work, nothing better than voicing a character, so it's great work and it's fun, and I love doing it... You don't have to worry about what you're wearing, you've got the script in front of you, and it doesn't involve your body, it's all about your voice, and it's really fast work.  It's also very lonely work, because you're by yourself, very rarely do you do it in a group."
