Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels is planning to take a hiatus from television to start raising her first child.
Michaels, 36, told Access Hollywood she has completed the proper paperwork, had a physical, and gone through an FBI background check as part of the process of adopting a child from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Michaels said she wants to concentrate on raising the child and then return to television in 2012.
The tough trainer said she is being open about the process of adoption, which could take as long as a year, because she feels like she has nothing to hide.
"I'm pretty transparent about everything," she said. "I'm really an open book. I'm not an actress. I walk the walk, I talk the talk, and I try to let people know this is who I am, so they can trust me. I don't really hide anything, I have nothing to hide."
Last year Michaels told Ladies’ Home Journal that she is looking for a healthy relationship with a man or woman.
“Let’s just say I believe in healthy love,” she said. “If I fall in love with a woman, that’s awesome. If I fall in love with a man, that’s awesome. As long as you fall in love ... It’s like organic food. I only eat healthy food, and I only want healthy love!”
