Meghan McCain on 'The View' and Elisabeth Hasselbeck Against DADT: Sky Does Not Fall

Pro-gay, immune to Stockholm Syndrome and one of our fave Republicans Meghan McCain was a guest host on The View Friday. And the hottest politician's daughter to ever Tweet a photo of her cleavage expressed pride in her mother Cindy McCain for recently joining the NOH8 photo shoot.

Meghan, who posed for NOH8 last year holding a tiny elephant in the palm of her hand, said that she nearly cried during her mom's photo shoot, saying that she and her mom have always held their own views, which they had to keep under wraps while her father John McCain ran for president against Barack Obama in 2008.

"She has always been for marriage equality. There are just people who are always going to disagree on this. I think it's a civil rights issue. Some people think it's a party politics issue. As long as there are people who are considered unequal in this country, I think that is completely un-American."

One point Meghan made sure to get across to the women of The View is that she is living proof that being raised with particular ideologies does not necessarily fully brainwash a person.

Host and notorious lefty Whoopi Goldberg mentioned John's current stance on not repealing "don't ask, don't tell," after he originally said he would support the military's decision on the issue.

"Obviously I disagree with my father, and I know a lot of people in the military who disagree with it," Meghan McCain said, adding that it's a complicated issue.

Even resident conservative button pusher Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who said she and hubby Tim Hasselbeck have a "tough" gay friend in the military, said the ban on gays in the military should be repealed - and the sky did not fall.
