When I heard of the new Starz series Spartacus: Blood & Sand debuting on the pay channel series in 2010, I could not fathom of any good reason to watch a show destined to be a testosterone driven bloodbath.
Until I saw the trailer this week.
Now, I'm virtually panting in anticipation of seeing the show before it's even hit the airwaves. And it's all because of former Xena & Battlestar Galactica star Lucy Lawless.
A very naked, lesbian-loving Lucy Lawless. Oh yes, the first lady of lesbian lust is taking it all off and getting it majorly on in the new Starz series. Lawless will be a regular on the new show, which revolves around the story of Roman gladiator/slave Spartacus.
The former sword-wielding leather goddess will play Lucretia, who co-owns Spartacus.
How did I miss this news? I mean, the show is being produced by Sam Raimi (Xena, Hercules) and Lawless' hubby Rob Tapert. Of course Lucy is in it. No matter, I'm all in now and ready to sign up for Starz in time to catch the premiere in January, 2010.
After watching the trailer, in which Lawless appears in various stages of undress and in various compromising positions with gorgeously hot women - I'm betting there will be more than a few other Lawless aficionados adding a new wish list item to their TiVo.
