'SNL' and John Hamm Gay Up Politics

Saturday Night Live, and host John Hamm got political and a little gay this week, skewering  Congress with a take on The State of the Union Address, and in a separate sketch, imagining the possible effects pretty-boy Republican Senator Scott Brown could have on unsuspecting admirers like Sen. Barbara Boxer, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and openly gay Massachusetts Sen. Barney Frank.

Saturday Night Live got political and a little gay this week, skewering Congress with a take on The State of the Union Address, and in a separate sketch, imagining the possible effects pretty-boy Republican Senator Scott Brown could have on unsuspecting admirers like Sen. Barbara Boxer, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and openly gay Massachusetts Sen. Barney Frank.

For the State of the Union sketch, Fred Armisen adopted President Obama's oratorical patterns to the tee to weigh in on Martha Coakley's miserable loss to Scott Brown, the state of affairs he walked to at the White House, including piles of unwashed dishes, health care and repealing "don't ask, don't tell."

The second sketch had Mad Men's John Hamm stepping into Brown's tight trousers to tease members of congress with his overt sex appeal. But don't take our word for it. Check out some very funny political sketches. It looks like Brown could be the next Sarah Palin-like draw for SNL.
