Vanity Fair Shoots 'Thelma and Louise' 20th Anniversary Spread

Twenty years ago Thelma and Louise took their historic road trip across the desert and into the abyss (sorry for the spoiler if you haven’t seen it) in Ridley Scott’s button-pushing feminist or anti-feminist film, depending on how you see it -- and that’s worth a thesis in itself  -- masterpiece. Now, Vanity Fair is shoot a 20th anniversary spread with its stars Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon.

And to celebrate the film’s anniversary, Vanity Fair flew its stars Geena Davis (the naïve Thelma who does a complete 180) and Susan Sarandon (the jaded Louise, who for the first time learns to depend on someone other than herself in Thelma) down to Miami for a photo shoot, according to the New York Post.

While I’m not sure what Miami has to do with the film, which showcased spectacular vistas throughout the southwest, the VF photo shoot is absolutely exciting news.

The spread won’t hit stands until later in 2011—Thelma and Louise was a summer flick after all.

I hope they recreate this priceless scene!
