Insert obligatory '2 Become 1' joke here.

Seeing couples get engaged with the help of celebrities is always a special occasion, but when those celebrities are an iconic music group in the middle of a rare reunion, it’s extra special.

And that’s just what happened when Lee Christie got the opportunity to propose to his boyfriend Duane Watters at the Spice Girls concert in Manchester last night.

The girls invited the two on stage and asked them how they were enjoying the concert so far.

“Do you want to say anything to all of these lovely people?” Emma finally asked Lee. He hesitated, then got down on one knee as Duane turned around, shocked.

A ring was given and a kiss exchanged, to endless applause from the crowd and congratulations from the ladies.

“Just make sure that you sign a pre-nup,” Mel B warned the two before they turned around and took a group photo.”

Christie posted a photo of him and Watters after the concert, Spice shirts and engagement ring on display.

“HE SAID YES!!! With the help of the @spicegirls I pulled [off] the engagement of the century ‘where 2 become 1’! Proposed on stage thanks to @officialmelb!” he wrote.

Mel B told Gay Star News that the couple had previously met at a Spice Girls show, making this the perfect opportunity for them to begin their engagement.

“It was a fantastic moment,” she said. “People in the crowd were crying with emotion. All of us girls were jumping up and down when he said ‘yes.’”

It sounds like a proposal to remember if ever there was one. Now if only they can get the girls to perform at their engagement party
