Watch Billy Porter’s Wild Red Carpet Appearance At The Fashion Awards

Enjoy the silence.

Billy Porter’s no stranger to a grand entrance. In fact, he’s honed a reputation for taking the red carpet by storm in truly iconic looks. There was the bejeweled and flowing golden cape appropriately worn at the 2019 Golden Globes. The stunning Christian Siriano tuxedo ball gown that slayed the 2019 Academy Awards red carpet and broke the internet. The sparkly, motorized lampshade hat he wore to the 2020 Grammys. Honestly, we could go on and on. But Porter pulled out all the stops for his latest sojourn down the red carpet at The Fashion Awards in London last night.

The Pose star stepped out into the sea of camera flashes wearing a stunning black and white embellished houndstooth dress by designer Richard Quinn, paired with patent platform boots. As if the silhouette’s sky-high shoulders wasn’t enough to make an impression, Porter was preceded by his own dance troupe dressed in zentai suits. It was... a lot. Mostly because it was really, awkwardly, silent. That is unless you count the sound of coughing as a backing track. You know what? It’s probably best if you watch it for yourself.

Here it is from another angle

No surprise, the internet had thoughts.

Was it a little awkward? Yes. But listen, you have to admire the sheer camp of it all. Not to mention Porter’s commitment to making every moment a moment, at the very least.
