Otherwise known as Donde Hubo Fuego in Spanish, Netflix’s High Heat tells the story of a man who joins a fire brigade to investigate the murder of his brother. The main character, Poncho, not only goes on to find love and friendship along the way, but he also uncovers clues to a serial killer.
The main cast within the fire brigade consists of Ivan Amozurrutia (Poncho), Antonio Sotillo (Alejandro), Daniel Gama (Gerardo), and Polo Morin (Julián). Audiences may already know Morin as an out gay actor who is currently set to star in the upcoming gay rom-com Red, White & Royal Blue. On the Spanish-speaking High Heat series, however, Morin plays one of the firefighters surrounding the main character of Poncho.
Past credits for Amozurrutia include Dark Desire and The Five Juanas. Gama was also featured on The Five Juanas, whereas Sotillo was previously known for starring on Rosario Tijeras.
The first season of High Heat has a total of 39 episodes, which makes it feel much more like a soap opera. But this is actually an original Netflix series created by José Ignacio Valenzuela (Who Killed Sara?) and produced/filmed in Mexico.
High Heat is currently streaming on Netflix.
