One week after once again delighting Heated Rivalry fans by baring his butt in Yaga, his new mysterious witch series on AMC+ and Crave, actor Hudson Williams is now baring his tortured writer's soul.

Before his Canadian queer hockey romance became a hit, it turns out Williams wrote and directed several short films, including Soakers, Buttons and Inside Augustine Mendoza’s Quotidian Apartment. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he revealed he is writing a new project where one character is a little too close to the character that catapulted him to fame in Heated Rivalry: Shane Hollander.

“I’m writing a movie right now, but one character is an ex-hockey player. We were like, ‘But if we have this hockey player and then you’ve done a hockey show,'" said Williams. "We’re getting tripped up on it and we’re considering other sports, but for some reason this character just made way more sense being an ex-hockey player."

This conversation about coincidences in art came up when EW interviewed Williams alongside Yaga costar Carrie-Anne Moss, perhaps best known for her role as Trinity in The Matrix movies movies alongside hot hunky actor Keanu Reeves. She commented on a surprising reference to John Wick in their modern-day detective-thriller show.

Wick fans will recognize the title of the series stems from the myth of the witch Baba Yaga, which is also the name of Reeves’ indefatigable hitman in the action film franchise.

In Yaga, Moss’ character, Katherine Hargrove, actually brings up John Wick.

“My intuition in the first moment was, ‘That’s my friend’s movie and that’s not my movie,’ but then I understood it from the world of play versus Carrie-Anne and her friend," Moss said.

"It’s almost like you have to bust through the prison of your own mind or construct of your own mind,” responded Williams.

EW's team tried to follow up, asking him to elaborate on this project he’s writing, but report the public relations flacks representing Williams "kindly shot down the question."

As for Yaga, trailers and promotional images have shown Williams in a few steamy scenes that will enthrall Heated Rivalry fans, from kissing Moss to scenes that look like he is part of a threesome, as Out reported. There's also a moment that fans are guessing gives a glimpse of Williams providing himself with a little self-pleasure.

Williams, 25, plays two roles in Yaga: Fishery empire heir Henry Park, who goes missing and his best friend, roommate and doppelgänger, Logan Casey. Williams wore a prosthetic nose for that part. Showrunner Kat Sandler told EW the idea of having a lookalike character was to help expand the list of potential suspects in Henry Park's disappearance. "We wanted to blow out the dark academia vibe of the school and do a little bit of ‘rich mouse, poor mouse,” she said.

The eight-episode half-hour drama is set in the fictional, isolated fishing town of Whittock and at the prestigious university that Henry and Logan attend, and where Moss’ character is a professor. Schitt’s Creek star Noah Reid portrays Charlie Rapp, a private investigator who partners with local law enforcement, including Detective Carson (Clark Backo), to figure out what happened to Park.

Next for Williams is the comedic-thriller Apparatus with Dylan O’Brien and a culinary thriller, Tyrant ,with Charlize Theron, Julia Garner, Demi Moore, and Omar Apollo. He is currently filming season two of Heated Rivalry in Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa through December 2, according to Just Jared.
