In a move that feels more like a Saturday Night Live skit than real life, Nicki Minaj’s name was floated as the next White House Press Secretary, after Trump praised her ass at a rally.

The position is wide open since Katie Zacharia was fired after a five-day stint on the job, but if you thought President Trump was going to pick someone with more experience to fill her shoes, you’d be wrong.

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung met with Minaj, who has cemented her place in the MAGA movement over the course of the last year, on Air Force One and suggested she’d be up to the task.

”Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary! @NICKIMINAJ,” Cheung wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Oct. 25.

Trump advisor Alex Bruesewitz also seemed to be on board when he commented, “Hey Barbz, what do we think about this idea??”

The suggestion that Minaj join the Trump administration may sound like political parody, but she spoke at Trump’s campaign rally in Port Huron, Mich. on Sunday, once again attacking transgender youth and leaning into the Republican Party’s dangerous narrative about gender affirming care for minors.

“We don’t want our children to be bombarded with sex changes, right?” Minaj told the crowd. “We don’t want that for our children. We want people to leave the children alone. Leave them out of it.”

And Trump seems to love the “Anaconda” singer, who dubbed herself Trump’s No. 1 fan back in January. At the rally, Trump continued his ongoing commentary on his fellow Republicans’ backsides by complimenting Minaj on her glutes.

After waxing poetic about Ohio Sen. Jon Husted’s butt, Trump made sure his audience knew he’s not gay by clarifying, “off the record, women yes, men no,” before singing Minaj’s praises.

“By the way, I looked at one hell of a beautiful ass before…Nicki Minaj,” he said before adding, “That’s hard to miss!”

With the Trump administration, it’s impossible to know if Minaj is a real contender for the press secretary job, but the internet hasn’t been shy about roasting the choice. Social media has been abuzz with fans shocked that Minaj has turned away from her queer fanbase and become a MAGA supporter, and people who can’t believe this isn’t political parody, with one person writing, “even Ryan Murphy couldn’t write something this ridiculous.”
