MAGA darling Sydney Sweeney has fallen from grace and is now being investigated by conservatives who think she might be transgender.
The right wing used Sweeney as the poster child for conservative values after she appeared in a controversial American Eagle ad last year, which featured the blond, blue-eyed, white star making a double entendre with “great jeans,” and “great genes.” MAGA’s love of the actress only accelerated when it was revealed that Sweeney registered as a Republican prior to the 2024 election and she refused to push back against white supremacy when given the opportunity in a GQ interview.
But it turns out sidling up to Republicans doesn’t protect you from their wrath, and now the right is “transvestigating” Sweeney.
A viral post on X by @p8stie racked up more than 5 million views over the weekend, claiming that Sweeney must have been born a man because of the size of her neck. “Why is Sydney Sweeney’s neck so much wider than her head? I’m starting to get really worried that she’s actually a man,” the post reads.
In case you don’t spend your time in the darker corners of the internet, “transvestigation” is a transphobic conspiracy theory that has gained traction among President Donald Trump’s MAGA followers who believe that celebrities, athletes, and politicians are secretly transgender, and that they can tell this based on the nonsensical theory that things like body language, jawlines, collarbone shape, and even skull size can reveal someone’s gender at birth.
The harmful conspiracy theory has led the Right to “investigate” Olympic boxer Imane Khelif, John Krasinski, Miss Universe Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, French first lady Brigitte Macron, and even the Statue of Liberty.
But lately, MAGA has started pointing its accusing fingers at conservatives as well because buying into their political ideology doesn’t actually offer any protection. Charlie Kirk and his widow, Erika Kirk, weren’t even been spared from a “transvestigation” after Kirk’s death.
While the conspiracy theory about Sweeney went viral just a few days ago, conservatives have been speculating for a while now.

Back in October 2024, a public Facebook group called “Transvestigation Disclosure NOW 2.0” called out Sweeney’s narrow hips as being proof of her “real” gender. “Sydney Sweeney is a male to female. This one is deceiving a lot of people but his male anatomy speaks for itself,” Lexi Summers captioned a photo of Sweeney in a bathing suit and one on the cover of Women’s Health.
Apparently, Sweeney’s clavicles are also indicative of her supposedly being assigned male at birth, according to a Reddit post that claims only men have clavicles that are more straight across.
The entire “transvestigation” phenomenon is absurd and not based in real science, but it does prove that aligning yourself with conservative values offers little protection from their firing squad.
