Kim Petras released a new song, titled "Pop Sound," as the lead single from her upcoming EP, Detour. The song is a pop-perfect banger that captures Petras's cultural references and artistic vision. Except that you can't really find the song on any major music streaming service at the moment.
Unfortunately, Petras's issues with record labels are far from over.
After pretty much begging for her record label to drop her as a signed artist a few weeks ago, things seem to be even worse now, with fans realizing that her new song, "Pop Sound," is not on Spotify, nor on Apple Music. It's been scrubbed. It just vanished.
As of this writing, the only place to listen to "Pop Sound" by Kim Petras is SoundCloud or YouTube.
In January, Petras discussed feeling "tired of having no control over [her] own life or career," arguing that she'd rather just fund and publish new music by herself.
According to the pop star, the Detour EP has "been done for six months, but my record label has refused to give me a release date or pay my collaborators' for the work they've done."
A saga that never ends!
