The news cycle may be endlessly harrowing these days, but every now and then we get a bit of proof that there is still love and joy in the world.

Recently, a video began circulating from a wedding reception that happened over the summer. The footage shows two men and some of their friends performing a carefully choreographed routine at the reception, and having an absolute blast doing it.

The newlyweds are Isaiah and Taylor Green-Jones, and they spoke with Good Morning America about the viral vid that’s spreading joy across the internet.

“Everyone was surprised at the wedding,” said Isaiah. “No one knew, so there was a lot of cheering, a lot of yelling. It was great.”

Taylor teaches dance cardio classes, and says he enlisted the help of a fellow dancer to come up with the choreography.

“We’d always wanted to do a dance video, but had never made a routine,” he said.

The routine the couple ended up creating was a three-minute medley set to a few different songs, including Beyoncé’s “Before I Let Go,” as well as Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road.” Lil Nas came out as gay a little over a month before the Green-Jones wedding, and they said it was important for them to include his music in the mix since he’s a gay black artist.

And as much as they enjoyed the reactions of their wedding guests when they performed, it’s certainly been nice having a resurgence of compliments on their hard work now that the video has gone viral.

“Online, there was a lot of support,” said Isaiah. “I think people felt inspired…because this video showed a little piece of light in the midst of a lot of negative energy out there.”
