The president of Albion College in Michigan said that “appropriate action” was taken against students who burned a gay pride flag at the school last month.
According to the Associated Press, a statement from Albion president Donna Randall said that a student contacted college officials on October 19 to report that other students had burned the flag.
“The Michigan school's Campus Safety department investigated and identified the students involved,” reports the AP. “Randall says investigators determined that the students found the flag in a trashcan and decided to burn it.”
Randall said that “appropriate action” was taken against the students for their conduct, but that privacy laws prevented her from revealing any details of the action.
The private four-year university is located in Albion, Mich.
