Julianne Moore and Annette Bening will be playing lesbian moms in a new film project, according to Variety. They will co-star as lesbian moms in The Kids Are All Right, a movie about the moms' two teenagers searching for their sperm donor. The kids are played by Josh Hutcherson and Mia Wasikowska, with Mark Rufalo as the donor.
The movie shows the challenges that come with the donor being integrated into the family's life.
Lisa Cholodenko is directing the film. She previously directed High Art and Laurel Canyon, both lesbian themed films.
Bening is no stranger to lesbian roles, as she played lesbian in Running With Scissors. Moore played Lila Crane, coded as lesbian, in Gus van Sant's remake of Psycho.
