What are Ben Platt and Noah Galvin thankful for this holiday weekend? Their engagement.

After two years of dating, the duo announced that they’re getting married. “He agreed to hang out forever,” wrote Platt on social media, sharing photos of the two in what appears to be the moment Platt popped the question surrounded by flowers and candles, followed by photos of Galvin’s ring.

Galvin also shared the news on his Instagram, writing, “I said yeehaw and then cried for like 7 hours.”

The two first met through the Dear Evan Hansen production. When Platt stepped down from the lead, Galvin stepped into the role. The two developed a close friendship that lasted for years before it grew into something more romantic.

“We were friends for five years, and right before the pandemic, we finally decided to really give it a shot. We kind of skated around it for a long time,” Platt told Kelly Clarkson while guesting on her show.

Once they decided to take a shot at the relationship, Platt said it went from “zero to 60,” although he added, “I was pretty dumb about it... I didn’t see the light for a long time and then I realize, you know, that he was the guy.”

As soon as the news of their engagement dropped, friends and celebs began congratulating the couple.

“Omg CONGRATS!!!” wrote Gottmik.

“I AM SO HAPPY AND HAVENT STOPPED CRYING,” wrote Beanie Feldstein

“OMG OMG OMG! CONGRATS TO YOU BOTH,” Michelle Visage commented.

“so happy for you both!!!!! Congratulations!!!” wrote Ariana Debose

Monet X Change, Rachel Zegler, Maude Apatow, and Cheyenne Jackson also offered the happy couple their love and support in the comments.

What a beautiful way to celebrate the holiday season: making a special moment with someone you are truly grateful for.
