Other out and proud members of Bachelor Nation are throwing their support behind Gabby Windey after the former Bachelorette star came out as queer and shared info about her girlfriend over the summer.

Both Colton Underwood and Becca Tilley were present at the Pickle! For Purpose Celebrity Pickleball Tournament last week, where they shared their enthusiasm for Windey with E! News.

“It makes me so happy—outside of Bachelor Nation, in Bachelor Nation—people feeling comfortable to be able to love who they love and let themselves have connections with people that maybe they didn’t expect to have,” said Tilley. “Being able to feel brave enough and safe enough to do it is so important.”

She also shared that she sent Windey a message congratulating her on finding happiness back when she came out, and that Windey, in turn, thanked her for helping pave the way.

Tilley has been in a relationship with Hayley Kiyoko since 2018, although the two didn’t go public with it until just last year, which also marked Tilley’s public coming out.

Underwood became the first leading man from The Bachelor to come out as gay the year prior, and told E! News that he knows firsthand that “it’s challenging going through a show like that with just the pressures of America rooting for a relationship without being in it.”

Neither Underwood nor Tilley are among the members of Bachelor Nation to leave the show engaged. Tilley was a runner-up in season 19 of The Bachelor and eliminated in week seven when she returned for season 20, whereas Underwood opted to pursue a candidate who wasn’t ready to be engaged during his time on the 23rd season of the series.

Windey, however, got engaged to Erich Schwer on season 19 of The Bachelorette after coming in as the runner-up on her season of its companion show. They were broken up by November of the same year.

“I’m just extremely proud of anybody from that franchise or any of the TV and reality world that gets to live their truth,” Underwood said.
