Meghan Trainor Fan Who Cried on TV Claps Back at Social Media Backlash
"It makes me sick how people are finding amusement in making fun of me for something that was so special to me."
A clip of Meghan Trainor interacting with a fan has gone viral.
Last month on the Today Show, the "All About That Bass" singer and LA Pride headliner performed her new song "Made You Look" alongside "Bad For Me" and "Lips Are Movin".
At the end of the performance, a gay fan has a chance to share how much Trainor means to him. "This girl has been here for me and it's insane," he says tearfully. "Thirteen of us that have been here since 'All About That Bass' was released," adding, "I love you so much."
When the host pans over to Trainor's reaction, she's also crying. "I'm emotional," she says. "I know all of them by name, I love them so much."

The moment took off on Twitter, but the general reactions are making fun of the fan named Jaron. An account that seems to be him has begun clapping back on Twitter.
"It makes me sick how people are finding amusement in making fun of me for something that was so special to me," he wrote in a follow up tweet. "Y’all laughing at me but this women let me be her backup dancer when I was 17. Brought me on her tour bus & made vines with me. Has provided my friends and I with m&g’s for every show we’ve gone too. And even gave my friend and I a virtual concert over FACETIME DURING COVID."

In 2015, Trainor had to be put on "complete vocal rest" because of a hemorrhage of her vocal cords. In 2017, she had to have surgery on them. She has largely recovered due to rest, quitting alcohol, and working out more.
"All About That Bass" was her smash breakout hit and spent 8 weeks at #1, but it is not her only hit. Trainor has six other songs that reached the Billboard Top 40, including "No" which reached #3, "Lips Are Movin" reached #4, and "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" featuring John Legend which peaked at #8.
Nope, though they are friends and Siwa even appeared in Trainor's recent music video for "Made You Look."
