The sapphic dating show you’ve been craving is finally here. Coming Out For Love introduces 16 queer women vying for a chance for love (while hanging out poolside in Palm Springs) with this season’s single, Amber Whittington, popularly known online as Amber’s Closet. Needless to say, we’re already obsessed.
For those uninitiated, Whittington is a basketball player, American YouTuber, and LGBTQ+ activist. She is a multi-nominee for LGBT Influencer of the Year awards and was featured in Rolling Stone as a “creator to watch” in May 2022. Whittington’s YouTube channel and her “Amber’s Closet” platform have been beacons of hope for many young queer women coming out. She boasts over 1.9 million followers.
The series was created by queer filmmaker Nicole Conn (A Perfect Ending, Elena Undone, More Beautiful For Having Been Broken) and is hosted by out actor and model Jessica Clark. The show also features a veritable Who’s Who of queer celebrities as judges and guests, including Sedona Prince (Oregon Ducks basketball star), Stoney Michelli Love (CEO and founder of Stuzo Clothing), Caroline Rose Giuliani (filmmaker, political activist, writer), Whitney Mixter (Showtime’s The Real L Word), Jill Osur (gender, racial and social activist; CEO Teneral Cellars wines), fashion designer Nik Kacy (founder of Equality Fashion Week ), Franco Stevens (Curve) and her wife, Jen Rainin (Ahead of the Curve), Tisha Floratos-Silano with Olivia Travel, singer/songwriter Tanerélle, and country music singer Brooke Eden
While the show doesn’t begin airing episodes until February, you can get to know the cast now. The series has already begun rolling out weekly episodes featuring the cast, four at a time, for free on OML.tv and NCGF.com.
