Supreme Court to rule on two cases that could reshape access to health care for LGBTQ+ people
Another week, another LGBT film! As part of PRIDE's ongoing Netflix and Chill series, where I watch and review some of the popular movie streaming service's many LGBTQIA+ films, I reviewed the queer-themed coming-of-age film Pariah, which was one of the selections at the popular and esteemed Sundance Film Festival in 2011.
The film follows a teenage girl named Alike as she navigates life while trying to figure out how to come out as a lesbian to her family. It's one of the few films on Netflix that features LGBT people of color, and I was really excited to watch it for that reason!

As The Advocate points out, under a previous policy announced by Ash Carter (defense secretary under President Obama), trans people were able to serve openly and have access to insurance coverage for transition-related medical procedures since last year. But with Trump's new plans, that policy is now being completely reversed. And rightfully, people everywhere are upset about it.

Netflix and Chill is a video web series where popular vlogger and social influencer Kat Blaque reviews some of the many LGBTQIA-themed films the popular movie-streaming service has to offer. 
Since the series' start, Kat has had the opportunity to critique a diverse range of movies, including the trans documentary Mala Mala, the coming-of-age drama Pariah, and the critically-acclaimed Tangerine(just to name a few).

Time for another installment of PRIDE’s ongoing Netflix & Chill series, where I watch and review some of the popular movie streaming service’s many LGBTQIA+ films! 
This week, I reviewed Mala Mala, a documentary directed by Antonio Santini and Dan Sickles that chronicles the lives of members of Puerto Rico's transgender community. The doc, which was one of the selections at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival, is critically acclaimed for not only its stunning visuals, but for offering a diverse portrayal of trans people and gender nonconforming experiences.

As part of PRIDE's ongoing Netflix & Chill series, where I watch and review some of the popular movie streaming service's many LGBTQIA+ films, I reviewed the gay-themed, Brazilian, coming-of-age film The Way He Looks. 
The 2014 film, which won two awards at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival, is about a blind schoolboy named Leonardo who develops on a crush on his male classmate/friend named Gabriel.
