Sunday is Mother's Day when the country takes time out to pay tribute to moms. While all good moms deserve recognition we wanted to pay tribute to some of the best known lesbian moms in the world.

Celeb lesbian Moms like Cynthia Nixon, Meredith Baxter, and Rosie O'Donnell have built careers and raised kids while managing their own kind of activism, and that is a special feat.

Here are a few of our favorite celeb moms, who also happen to be gay.

 

Wanda Sykes is famous for being such a funny lady, but to her young twins with her wife, she's just Mom.

 

 

Dr. Lara Embry is a mom and now  Jane Lynch a proud step-mom after they wed this year.

 

 

Cynthia Nixon and her partner Christine Marinoni are moms to Cynthia's kids and to their son that Christine gave birth to in February of 2011. 

 

 

Rosie O'Donnell and her ex Kelli Carpenter raised a big family together.
