It wasn’t long ago that comedian Tracy Morgan had an entirely different message on bullying. In this public service announcement posted by PerezHilton.com in November, Morgan asks us “to be kind to one another.”
“Picking on someone because they are different doesn’t make you a tough guy, it makes you a bully,” he said. “If you know someone that’s being teased, talk to them. I was different as a kid, and I’m still different — I’m on TV! So take that, bullies!”
The closing tagline — "I’m Tracy Morgan, and I want you to be kind to one another” — might ring strangely now, little more than six months later. During an onstage rant in Nashville, Morgan said gay people should “quit being pussies” and whining about bullying, according to people who were in the audience at his stand-up act.
Morgan has since apologized for going “too far,” which included joking that he’d stab his son to death if he were gay.
