Grace Valerie's new video 'Not For Love' is 'an expression of love' that 'crosses nations, shapes, colors, and forms.'

Russia's been making noise on the international stage for its institutional hate recently, so it's nice to hear one of its former citizens creating something a bit sweeter — not to mention hotter — for Valentine's Day.

Grace Valerie, a dance pop artist originally from Russia, released the video for her song "Not For Love" Thursday. In the video, Valerie calls out what appears to be her male lover, a fighter by trade, for not putting up a similar fight in their relationship and leaving her for another woman.

But in a gender stereotype-defying twist, Valerie fights the guy in question — and reunites with her true lover, the other woman!

The video, which Valerie released from her new home in Los Angeles but in the spirit of rebelling against Russia's ban on so-called gay propaganda, is meant to show that love "crosses nations, shapes, colors, and forms," according to an interview with the Huffington Post.

"It's sad that my LGBT friends and fans don't feel as free in Russia as they may elsewhere," Valerie said in a press release. "However, Russia's LGBT grassroots movement is small but growing. Gay bars and clubs continue to open across the country, despite society's disapproval. Things now are much better than they were in the USSR or as they are in some African, Arab, or Latin countries."

Above all else, Valerie said she believes the video is "an expression of love," which makes it significant at such a historical crossroads. "Love is not only the most universal language, but also the strongest driver throughout human history," she said. "I sincerely believe in its power."

Valerie's hot, video-ending makeout session with her girlfriend is some kind of powerful, too. Watch it below.
