Los Angeles must have done something right because Indigo Girls and Joan Baez will be performing together at the Greek Theatre on July 3.
The powerhouse acts that are iconic in their own right have dedicated much of their time to activism work over the decades. The Indigo Girls have used their presence as an out musical group to fight for LGBT equality, among many other causes. Baez is a pioneer of the '60s folk scene and an activist for just as long.
The musical acts will be perform together on stage in L.A. as part of the Indigo Girls’s summer tour. The duo of Amy Ray and Emily Saliers will play with different musicians and musical groups throughout the tour, including The Seattle Symphony, Hannah Thomas and Jennifer Nettles, according to the tour list.
The Indigo Girls have been making music together for 30 years and have released 14 studio albums in their time. Baez has been making music for over 50 years.
This isn’t the first time the trio has performed or recorded together. In 1995, the Indigo Girls joined Baez on a cover of Bob Dylan's “Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright” for Baez's 1995 release Ring Them Bells.
