"He probably saved so many lives and educated so many people..."

At a concert in New Zealand this weekend, LGBT ally Demi Lovato dedicated her song “Warrior” to Bruce Jenner in the wake of his interview on Friday with Diane Sawyer, in which he came out as transgender.

Lovato admits in her intro to the song that prior to Keeping Up with the Kardashians she had no idea who Jenner was, and further admits she never thought she’d dedicate a song to the Olympian.

She says, however, that she was inspired to sing a song in his honor because, "He was honest and he was open with his story. And whether you agree with it or not, he probably saved so many lives and educated so many people."

Note: Bruce Jenner’s current name is used here, as are male pronouns, as he stated in his interview that we should continue to use the familiar pronouns “him” or “he” at this juncture.
