Venice Beach Protesters March for Women's Equal Right to Tan Topless

Protesters marched through California’s famed Venice Beach on Sunday asking for women and men to have equal rights to tan topless.

Both male and female protesters paraded down Ocean Front Walk calling for what they say is an unconstitutional exercise of gender discrimination, according to KTLA. They say that the human body is a masterpiece that shouldn’t be covered up, especially not at the beach.

This is the fourth year protesters have gathered in Venice, and in other cities around the country, to stress that if men are permitted to bear their chests in public, then women should be allowed to do the same.

In addition to protesting, attendees from GoTopless gathered signatures to be submitted to President Obama on Women’s Equality Day next week in Washington, DC. You can add your name to either the US or Canadian petition here.
