Talk show host, entertainer and lovable lesbian extraordinaire Ellen DeGeneres has a new book coming out October 4 called Seriously … I’m Kidding. The volume, written by Ellen herself, contains personal stories, solid advice and outrageous fiction.
In her latest book, Ellen talks about becoming a CoverGirl model, joining the judges table on American Idol and dealing with everyday life. She even talks about the best way to meditate, the pro’s and con’s of making a pro/con list and the difficulties of being royalty (she is apparently related to future Queen of England Kate Middleton).
Ellen is funny and genuine (as usual) while catching readers up on what has happened in her life since her last book The Funny Thing Is..., which hit the New York Times Best Seller list upon its release in 2003. Since then, Ellen has landed her own TV show, won countless awards and got married to Portia. Full of photos, quotes and stories from her life, Seriously … I’m Kidding is a laugh-out-loud look at her journey. She candidly tells her story to her fans, and it is clear the book was written from the heart.
Other than the updates on Ellen’s life, she also discusses how to fall asleep easily (read a math book), be polite (say “G’day, mate” frequently), and the secret to having billions of dollars in the bank (“Make lots of money. Don’t spend it.”).
Grand Central Publishing will release Seriously … I’m Kidding, a 256-page hardcover, on October 4 for $26.99.
